Elementary educators learn the development of media with new technologies


At the final event on 13 December 2023, questions relating to digital education in primary education were discussed from a gender-sensitive perspective with people from the education sector, social partners and the field of research. One thing became clear: if education aims to take children’s environment seriously, then digital education cannot be seen as a “special area”, but as education in a general way. It is crucial that early childhood educators are able to critically analyse their own attitudes towards digitality, gender issues and other categories of inequality. We would like to thank the three experts: media pedagogue and digital activist Rosa Danner, Lars Eichen from the Institute for Educational Research and Pedagogical Education at the University of Graz and elementary pedagogue Astrid Beck. We would also like to thank the cooperating schools, especially the pupils, as well as everyone who participated the final event!
