ESF funding concept ‘active and healthy aging’

Against the background of the still low employment rate of older workers in Austria compared to the rest of the EU and an already existing comprehensive national package of measures to increase this rate, in the framework of the ESF innovative company-related measures to promote work that is appropriate for older workers was developed and implemented.

One focus of the investment priority 8vi ‘Active and healthy aging’ was the planned pilot projects to promote an age-appropriate and health-promoting working environment in the sense of a primary preventive approach. For this priority area, the central key points of a funding concept must be worked out within the framework of a preparatory analysis. The aim was to scan the service landscape and identify those niches in which innovative projects could be implemented within the framework of the ESF. Reference were made to the specific context explained in the OP. Accordingly, the focus was on innovative projects and the measures were particularly suitable for SMEs.

It was planned to take stock of existing offers in Austria and to carry out successful project approaches in an international context. Building on this, a funding concept was developed which serves the administrative authority as a basis for calls for the submission of project concepts.
