Collection of good practices of non-monetary measures in the area of Women and Poverty

The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) has commissioned the study to Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini (FGB). It was part of a long-term gender mainstreaming programme of the EIGE, which aims to support better informed policy-making and to develop gender competence for a more effective implementation of gender mainstreaming through the development, analysis, evaluation and dissemination of methodological tools. It was targeting primarily at policy makers and implementers from EU Member States and EU institutions.

The study had a twofold objective:

• provide a set of country profiles to assess the extent to which EU Member States have developed a gender-based methodology to design, implement and monitor policies to combat poverty – with a specific focus on the collection and use of gender-sensitive data
• provide a set of good practices on non-monetary measures in the area of women and poverty, specifically:
  • women at risk of “in-work poverty”, with a specific focus on older women
  • women with a migrant background, with a specific focus on Roma women

The team of L&R social research elaborated the Austrian country profile as country experts by replying to the questionnaire which was provided alongside the project guidelines.
