Postings and transfers to Austria, wage dumping. A study focusing on the construction sector.

The research project builds on four previous studies in the field of wage and social dumping conducted by L&R Social Research on behalf of the Vienna Chamber of Labour. Selected previous findings will be supplemented and updated by new data and developments. Therefore a multi-method approach on a quantitative and qualitative basis will be used.

New is the specific focus on the economic field of construction or, more precisely, the field of those companies that are subjected to the Construction Workers’ Leave and Severance Pay Act (BUAG). The main objective in this context is to identify the significance of the Construction Workers’ Annual Leave and Severance Pay Fund (BUAK) in the prosecution of cases of wage and social dumping within the construction sector and the complex work of wage controls.
