Update of the study ‘Temporary Agency Work in Austria’ 2025

In 2007, L&R Sozialforschung presented a study report on temporary agency work in Austria (Enzenhofer/Riesenfelder/Wetzel 2007), followed by a study in 2009 on the situation of temporary work in Austria with detailed questions concerning the situation of temporary workers (Riesenfelder/Wetzel 2009). This was followed in 2017 by a comprehensive report on temporary agency work in Austria (Riesenfelder/Danzer/Wetzel 2017).
The 2017 report contained empirical data on the situation of temporary agency workers, including in particular their employment status, income distribution, unemployment risks, seasonal effects, length of employment, working conditions, representation by works councils, inclusion in continuing vocational training and problems associated with working as a temporary agency worker.
The planned update of the study results on temporary agency work in Austria will provide an update on the most important empirical findings and supplement them with new questions and topics relating to the employment situation of temporary agency workers.
The aim of the study is to use various methodological approaches to present a balanced and up-to-date picture of temporary agency work in Austria.
