Safe Together – Safe Nightlife in Vienna

Within the project ‘Safe Together – Going Out in Vienna Safe for Young Women’, on behalf of the Women’s Service of the City of Vienna (MA57), the practices, problems and challenges facing youth – especially for girls and young women – when going out in Vienna were examined.

A total of eight focus groups of young women and men aged 14 to 21 in Vienna were involved. The main questions addressed were: 1. How and where do youth go out? 2. Do they take their own safety into consideration before going out? 3. Are there specific ‘strategies’ being implemented to increase feeling (more) safe? 4. What do they experience when going out in Vienna?
