MiP – Men in Care
19.02.2026
Strengthen care. Prevent violence.
More and more men in Austria are taking on unpaid care work – often in conflict with traditional role models. Overwork often remains invisible, but can be a significant risk factor for domestic violence. This is where the MiP research project comes in:
👉 It highlights the stresses and support needs of men who provide care
👉 Develops concrete preventive measures against violence – especially to protect women aged 60.
How?
• By carrying out interviews with men who provide care, companies and care experts
• By development of support services and training courses
• By creating practical guidelines for men and companies
• Providing access to information and an online dossier for sustainable knowledge transfer
🎯 Goal: better care conditions, less overload – and creation of an effective contribution to violence prevention.
