Interreg Danube4Rural.com: Partner Meeting and Workshop In Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina
13.04.2026
In March/April 2026, the partner meeting of the Interreg project Danube4Rural.com took place in Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We would like to thank our host, the Development Agency of the City of Prijedor “PREDA,” for the excellent organization and hospitality.
🔍 What motivates people to move to rural regions—and to stay there?
Our latest study identifies clear areas for action:
✅ Infrastructure: Digitalization and comprehensive public transportation are basic prerequisites.
✅ Quality of life: Healthcare, childcare, and a strong sense of community are decisive factors in attracting new residents.
✅ New ways of working: Supportive conditions for remote work, such as co-working infrastructure and an open remote-work culture, offer further incentives.
We reflected on these and other approaches with our project partners during a joint workshop.
The goal is now to translate these findings into concrete policy solutions and pilot initiatives in the Danube region.
