Raising the Labour Force Potential of Women with Childcare Responsibilities in the Province of Carinthia

27.06.2024

With the increasing shortage of skilled labour, the labour force potential of women has become even more important. In particular, women with childcare responsibilities who are not (or cannot) participate in the labour market are increasingly becoming the focus of attention. As the study results have shown, the main obstacles to increasing the labour force potential of women is  inadequate childcare for young children, low levels of paternal participation (due also to longer absence periods from work) and diverse existing discrimination on the labour market concerning motherhood (which creates considerable obstacles for women searching for work).

The study was commissioned by AMS Carinthia.
