Gender equality objectives monitor of AMS funding: Contribution of AMS measures to the positioning of women in the labour market
The Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS) has a long tradition of understanding gender equality as an integral part of its labour market policy and setting corresponding objectives in this regard. The AMS is also subject to a legal obligation to contribute to equality between women and men in the labour market and therefore pursues gender-equality-oriented goals in addition to goals for labour market policy. Central content-related dimensions refer to equal access to employment that guarantees economic independence as well as the reduction of vertical and horizontal segregation in the training and labour market.
The monitor of AMS gender equality objectives examined whether and, if so, to what extent AMS measures contribute to gender equality with regard to specific gender equality dimensions, specifically with regard to (1) employment, (2) unemployment, (3) out of labour force positions, (4) income and (5) change of sector. In a first step, the impact on women participating in the AMS measures was analysed along these dimensions, followed by the impact of these measures on reaching the AMS gender equality objectives.
