Systematic analysis of the workshop reports of the “Digital Überall” initiative
In 2023, the “Digital Skills Offensive for Austria” was launched, which is supported by four ministries (BMF, BMBWF, BMAW, BMKOES) and is committed to the nationwide promotion of basic digital skills and the development of a consistent competence framework for digital skills. The “Digital Überall” initiative is part of this skills offensive and focuses on imparting basic digital skills throughout Austria by means of free workshops with the aim to close existing skills gaps.
As part of the current roll-out phase of this “Digital Überall” initiative, around 3.700 workshops are being offered in the timeframe between June 2024 to June 2025 to improve basic digital skills, focusing on the following topics:
- Digital senior education
- Safety on the internet
- Digital official channels/ eGovernment
- Artificial intelligence
- Living with increasing digitalization.
L&R Social Research was commissioned by the Digital Skills Office of OeAD to evaluate the initiative from the perspective of the organizations implementing the workshops. For this purpose, the workshop reports to be prepared by the organizations will be subjected to a systematic content analysis.
The aim of the analysis is to consolidate and present in a structured way the experiences of the organizations with the design and implementation of the workshops as well as in connection with reaching the target groups and the learning outcomes achieved. In this context, challenges experienced as well as tried and tested solutions are also reflected upon and used to identify opportunities for further development and options for action to continue the initiative.
