Dialogue forum for jobseekers in Vienna 2024
The research project was designed as part of the series “Frankly speaking – dialogue forum for jobseekers in Vienna”, which is regularly commissioned by the Vienna Chamber of Labour, AMS Vienna and Waff. The series deals with the situation of Viennese jobseekers, attempts to ascertain the problem perception of those affected, identify needs for improvement and gaps in support and develop concrete suggestions for improvement. In particular, in-depth analyses should make it possible to better understand the individual perspectives and experiences of job-seeking Viennese in order to make further improvements to the support services on this basis. The project has already been carried out eight times since 2013, with more specific questions and target groups being analysed over time.
This year’s edition of “Offen Gesagt” was being organised by L&R Social Research together with prospect Unternehmensberatung GmbH and focused on the situation of people in Vienna (aged 25 and over) who have not completed vocational training (no more than compulsory schooling) and are looking for work. This is because the career opportunities of people who have not completed vocational training have deteriorated significantly in recent decades due to various structural developments. This makes it increasingly difficult for this group of people to find work.
Against this background, the research project aimed to analyse data to provide a differentiated inventory of the target group and – as far as possible – to create a typology. As part of a quantitative survey, key problems of the target group were also identified and existing services and potential gaps analysed. Based on this, concrete suggestions for improvement were developed.
