Project: Evaluation of the introduction of child care benefits
- On the 1st of January 2002 the hitherto existing regulation of the maternity leave payment was displaced by the new child care benefits.
- Therewith a social political turnaround from an earnings-centered modell to a family benefit that honors the child care of the parents independently of the earlier income status has been made. The period of benefits has in comparison to the maternity leave payments risen to 30 months, the employment law has however not been adapted. The limitations of income in the frame of the child care benefits have also been adapted.
